IWA Working Group on Alternative Water Resources (China) is established by International Water Association (IWA) under the cooperation of Desalination Branch of China Water Enterprises Confederation (CDA), aiming at the provision of a platform for exchanging ideas and information on advanced technologies for non-conventional water resources development and utilization, solving water shortage problems, and binging water industries and professionals together to share their experiences and seek opportunities of collaboration for developing alternative water resources and promoting water reuse in China as well as other countries.
The main undertakings of the IWA Working Group on Alternative Water Resources (China) are as below:
To carry out research work on the development of alternative water resources, including sea water and brackish water desalination, storm water harvesting, wastewater treatment and reuse, membrane separation for urban and industrial areas
To organize annual conference, symposium or workshop in China and promote related activities and/or projects through its own website and publications
To take an active part in related IWA events domestically and internationally and acquire support from IWA through its Cities of the Future Program and other activities
Managing Committee members of the working group include scientists, practitioners, and entrepreneur from China and abroad. CDA, as the regional allied institution, is responsible for the daily operation and development of the IWA Working Group on Alternative Water Resources (China) and working together with all its members to achieve its goal.
